About MSA: Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by autonomic failure with various combinations of parkinsonism and cerebellar ataxia. Although the molecular etiologies of MSA have been unknown until recently, the discovery of α-synuclein as a major component of glial cytoplasmic inclusions and identification of genes associated with MSA are contributing to our better understanding of the molecular basis of MSA.
About this meeting: At the 7th International Congress of Multiple System Atrophy, the main topics include disease-modifying therapy, natural history, biomarkers, imaging, neurobiology, genomics, and promotion of international collaborative effort to further accelerate researches for MSA.
