Dr Sinéad O’Sullivan, Humboldt Fellow at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, the DZNE, will present PD-MitoQUANT findings and her research at the next NeuroConnect meeting, August 12th at 4:00 PM Irish Time. Dr O’Sullivan will present her research on alpha-synuclein induced mitochondrial dysfunction and the role of glial cells in Parkinson’s disease. Sinéad’s talk entitled  ‘Modelling alpha-synuclein pathology in vivo‘ will also include an overview of the pre-clinical models used in the lab: AAV human alpha-synuclein overexpression in the substantia nigra and vagus nerve and stereotactic injection of human a-synuclein pre-formed fibrils.
