Neuroscience Institute of the National Research Council (CNR)

The Neuroscience Institute of the National Research Council (CNR) is the largest Italian Institution for research on the nervous system and its diseases. The institute includes more than 60 different research groups located in 4 different cities, with Milano hosting about half of them. Research includes investigations of the molecular mechanisms controlling neural stem cell identity and multi-lineage differentiation and novel approaches of neural cell reprogramming.

CNR will be involved in PD-MitoQUANT’s in vitro research:

  • characterising and establishing novel humanised in vitro models of Parkinson’s disease, and
  • developing novel models for the study of ageing in Parkinson’s using direct reprogramming approaches.
